Brakyeller and the Midget - Augusta's Worst Weather 1.0 Mb

Brakyeller (aka John) is a close friend I've known since high school). We met in Journalism but really bonded in our Creative Writing Class where it became a competition between us to see who could out-wierd our teacher, poor Mrs. Stout who no doubt secretly hated us both.

John won nearly every time as his work was far more reserved and cerebral while I opted for shameless jokes about dead nurses and poems about the lighter side of suicide. It doesn't help that I was a long-haired guy with a scraggly goatee while John looked stiff, reserved and boring in his loafers, slacks and dress shirts with a clean-cut, handsome face and nearly-shy voice. John's writing from that class was better than mine and much of what you hear here is a direct result of that class.

The entire project was recorded in one sitting in about two hours with John simply reading from his notebook and me and Sir Mildred Pierce (and later, Cristin, SMP's sister) reacting much as you probably would.

The single track that was not part of this project, "Augusta's Worst Weather," was one of several joke productions John made while working at NBC 26 as a producer for those insipid promotional spots you see advertising that night's news. The script was written by John and performed by a guy he affectionately referred to as "The Midget." In reality, The Midget is not a midget, but just a guy who does voice-over work for TV stations all over the country. Unfortunately, we no longer have the video that accompanies this however, suffice it to say it's laugh-out-loud funny, featuring footage from disaster films and Army of Darkness.

John currently lives in Atlanta, works in the insurance industry and ironically, hates pickles.
